I am an educator and writer, born and raised in Vermont with a fifteen-year sojourn in Texas. (What can I say? I’m stubborn.)

I was a candidate at the University of North Texas in the Ph.D. English program, focused in Cognitive Linguistics and Poetics. My bachelor’s degree is in Journalism, concentrated in Public Relations. I taught intro design for five years, creating a hyperawareness of editing and design principles. You might say I have an interest in words and technology, and words in technology.

This blog serves as a reference point and additional method of communication with my students. It may also include random observations on the media, linguistics, design, writing or whatever catches my fancy on that day.
